    Sublette County teen dies in dune buggy rollover yesterday

    Pinedale – The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) shared today, that a local teenager was killed in a recreational vehicle accident yesterday, July 12th, 2020, at approximately 8:20 pm.

    Sublette County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting there had been a rollover of a recreational vehicle near the Sublette and Lincoln County line. The reporting party advised a female occupant was not conscious or breathing. CPR instructions were given by SCSO Dispatchers while Deputies and EMS responded to the scene.

    Upon their arrival, responders found a dune buggy to be rolled on its top and a female occupant unresponsive. Unfortunately, due to severe head injuries, the 14-year-old driver succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. A helmet was in use at the time of the crash.

    The other juvenile occupant of the vehicle was taken to a nearby medical facility to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

    This comes as Sublette County’s third traffic fatality this year. The SCSO would like to remind everyone to always wear your seatbelt when traveling in your cars and recreational vehicles alike.

    The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office extends their deepest condolences to the family for their loss in this difficult time.
