Students, staff, community recognized for Giving Tree at Monday night FCSD #24 Shoshoni School Board meeting

(Shoshoni, WY) – The Fremont County School District (FCSD) #24 School Board convened for a regular meeting Monday, December 20th.

In addition to various administrative/leadership reports and consent item approvals, folks responsible for the annual Giving Tree were recognized for their efforts.

“Our goal for the Giving Tree at Shoshoni School was to help make a child’s Christmas a little brighter and to take some stress off the parents,” the recognition reads.

“Our staff, students, community, Shoshoni Recreation District, Wind River Church, Girl Scout Troop #1522, Contango, and Contango Employees went above and beyond to make this a success!

“Nurse Donna made phone calls to some of our families. Our OT/PT cut and hole punched the tags. Our 2nd graders put hangers on our tags for the tree, put up our tree, and hung the tags. Our Military Science and two 4-H groups wrapped presents, and our admin office team and counseling donated concessions profits.”

A special thank you was also given to Amber Dye for coordinating the Giving Tree project, and for “putting a ton of time into keeping everything organized.”

Each child received four gifts (toy/item of interest, clothing, hat/gloves, and a coat), and the families received a $200 Smith’s Gift Cards and a card from the girl scout troop.
