Student Citizen, Shoshoni Citizen of the Year awards presented Wednesday

(Shoshoni, WY) – The Wind River Lodge #25 and Shoshoni Masonic Club held their annual awards banquet on Wednesday evening. This event honored four Shoshoni High School Student Citizens of the Year as well as the Shoshoni Citizen of the Year.

The 2021 John Coulthard Citizenship Award for Student Citizen of the Year was presented to Arie Michelena, Cheyenne Thompson, and Sadie Wood. Also receiving an award, but unable to attend last night is Tara Maddock. Presenting the plaques and $500 checks was Eric Smartt. He was instrumental in helping raise the funds for these students by sponsoring the raffle earlier this year.

Recipients of this award are selected by their peers, school staff and faculty. This is not an academic award solely based on GPA, but given to those who are helpful and friendly, and embody being a good citizen and student among other things.
