Some Backstory on Those Wide Loads Traveling Down the Highway?
(Thursday, August 10, 2017) – County 10 reached out to other sources following the posting of this article and found that the truck beds are being manufactured at a company called Westech in Casper, Wyoming. The trucks are then being shipped to a mining company in Utah.
Sources say that 90 truck beds have been ordered all together. The number of truck beds delivered so far has not been confirmed. Westech and Rio Tinto Kennecott have not been reachable for confirmation of other details at this time.
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Have you seen these huge pieces of equipment being escorted down the highways over the last couple of days and wondered what they are? County 10 reached out to Wes Romero of the Riverton Police Department for answers.
Romero told County 10 that they are pieces of large dump trucks that are used by a mining company in Utah. The owner of the company has been sending these pieces of equipment to Casper, Wyoming to be painted pink in honor of his wife that died of breast cancer and to bring awareness to breast cancer.
