#Snapped: Riverton Hot Air Balloon soars over the London Bridge

Riverton-based hot air balloon, the Cloud Kisser, was photographed last weekend soaring high over the London Bridge.

The balloon crew, of course, didn’t need to go all the way to England to accomplish the feat, as the famed bridge is now in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Every January the community hosts the Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair, much like Riverton’s annual July Rendezvous.

The London Bridge was constructed in 1831 in London and operated for over one hundred years. In 1962, it was sold by the City of London. McCulloch Oil Corporation purchased the bridge and re-constructed it over the Colorado River in the Arizona community. The corporation purchased the specific bridge primarily as a tourism opportunity.

Everywhere the Cloud Kisser flies, it serves as a billboard for the City of Riverton. The Riverton Rendezvous logo is printed on the side of the balloon’s envelope, promoting the July balloon rally.

In 2018, the balloon had another very scenic Arizona flight in the Page, AZ area. Check out photos from that flight here!
