#Snapped: Riverton group participates in the “#Trashtag Clean-Up Challenge”

A group of Riverton leaders and citizens participated last weekend in what has become an internet sensation. The #Trashtag clean-up challenge has inspired hundreds of people across the globe to pick up trash in their neighborhoods, or other areas that could use a bit of tidying.

Riverton City Councilmembers Rebecca Schatza and Cory Rota were part of the group along with Rota’s daughter. Former City Councilman Lance Goede and his wife Kelly, Riverton Community Development Director Eric Carr and his wife Tara, along with Riverton media members Rusty Wuertz and Bobby Falat also joined the efforts.

The group filled large trash bags along the Rails-To-Trails path between City Hall and The Depot restaurant.

Additionally, they are already planning another round of trash pickup along Webbwood Road later this spring.

Participants say they hope the efforts will help beautify Riverton, and inspire others to pick up in other areas of town.
