While the Riverton River Walk has existed for around a decade, improvements to the area have helped it grow exponentially in popularity over the last couple of years.
The Riverton Depot Foundation acquired the 135-acre property along the Wind River in 2008 and extended the paved walking path from the “Rails to Trails” pathway. The foundation has recently relocated 25 trees to the area to provide more shade and scenery, an additional 7 trees are also going to be transferred this year.
Future projects include a water-drip system, electricity to the nearby amphitheater, and a light fixture/security camera system in the parking area.
