#Snapped: Bald Eagle crashes through a bedroom window in Jackson

Photos: Teton Raptor Center, Jackson Hole

One Jackson, Wyoming home owner was in for an enormous surprise Tuesday when a bald eagle crashed through their bedroom window.

The majestic symbol of American patriotism cleared a double-paned window, and though dazed, was still alive. The homeowner, still with eagle in house, ultimately called Jackson’s Teton Raptor Center.

The Raptor Center reports, “some minor cuts and scrapes, head trauma, and severe bruising, but no obvious broken bones.” They’ll take X-rays to confirm that, but think the animal will be fine with a bit of rest and relaxation.

They also identified United States Geological Survey leg bands on the animal, which indicated that he’s been living in western Wyoming for over 30 years.
