#Smiles: Wyoming Indian High School robotics team wins award at State; providing goods to Wind River Reservation residents

A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Rendezvous Dental.

Wyoming Indian High School’s (WIHS) Robotics Team The Electic Feather has competed for the last two years in the First Tech Challenge at the State Competition, shared WIHS Science Teacher Scott Krassin.

This year First Tech Challenge Team #15604, which was the first WIHS robot, was awarded the Judges Award at the State Competition,” Scott said. “The Judges Award is given to the team that, during interviews, displays the attributes of a team that has inspired their high school as well as the surrounding community.”

The Electric Feather, in collaboration with their sister team Jackson Hole High School Robobroncs, are providing and delivering face masks and paper goods to the reservation community, Scott explained. “As of April 30th, this partnership has provided over 500 face masks along with many paper products for the reservation community.”

A special thanks goes out to the Jackson Hole community, WIHS NASA students, WIHS Electric Feather Team, Jackson Hole Robobroncs, staff, and parents for their huge part in this endeavor.

The teams plan to continue this service as long as we have masks to deliver. If you would like to contribute in some way to this community project, please email [email protected].
