    #Smiles: Wyoming 307 Select soccer team wins championship in Arizona

    A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Olsen Orthodontics.

    (Bullhead City, AZ) – The Wyoming 307 Select Girls’ Soccer Team, which includes 6 Fremont County players, won the Soccer City Championship in Arizona this past weekend.

    This was the statewide team’s first tournament of the year due to the pandemic. They won the championship in a tiebreaker penalty shootout against a Southern California team. The final score was 4-3.

    This U13 team plays year-round across the country and consists of players from Lander, Riverton, Sheridan, Gillette, and Green River, according to head coach Jeremy Mejorado.

    Next up, the team goes south again to the Utah Surf Invitational in June. This is the qualifier for the national event in San Diego which happens over Thanksgiving.

    In the near future, they will be fundraising to help offset costs for the Target USA CUP 2021; a weeklong international tournament in Minnesota. The tournament is happening in mid-July and over 70 countries are planning to participate.
