#Smiles: ‘The Shoshoni Hackers’ earn $8K at WyoHackathon

A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Olsen Orthodontics.

(Shoshoni, WY) – The 4th annual WyoHackathon in Laramie was no match for The Shoshoni Hackers who earned first place in the Best Solution for Economic Development in Wyoming, according to a Facebook post from Shoshoni Schools.

Their 1st place win earned an $8,000 cash prize, plus a year of office space, valued at $5,000.

“Our submission was a blockchain certification pathway for secondary education and educational resource. Check out what we produced here: certified.cryptobounty.org,” the post states.

“The students worked extremely hard, starting Friday evening, and working all day Saturday in order to claim victory.

“It is worth noting that we were not competing against other high-school teams, but largely against professionals and some college students.”

Way to go, Abby Ballard, Adaline King, Chase Brown, Zane Lucas, Kuper Brink and John Dickinson! 🎉
