    #Smiles: Riverton will host Speech & Debate championships this weekend; Took 1st in Rawlins last weekend

    A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Rendezvous Dental.

    The Riverton High School Speech and Debate team took home another trophy. This past weekend at the Rawlins Outlaw Classic, they once again took 1st place in the 3A division.

    Individually, Joseph Thornton claimed 1st in Poetic Interpretation, 1st in Dramatic Interpretation, 4th in Humorous Interpretation, and with Savannah Whitehurst placed 2nd in Duo Interpretation. Jalon Tyndall made it to Supers in Congressional Debate. Elizabeth Pierson took 4th in Oratory. Kaia Tippets progressed to semifinals in Dramatic Interpretation and placed 3rd in Duo Interpretation with Shannyn Kreitzer.

    Collin McLaughlin made it semifinals in Humorous Interpretation. Isaac Almejo-Ponce earned a spot in semifinals in Humorous Interpretation and placed 1st in Duo Interpretation with Carolyn Thornton. Carolyn made into semifinals in Humorous Interpretation and took 7th place in Program Oral Interpretation.

    Coaches Annette Thornton and Becca Pierson-Lewis are eager for State Championships this weekend at their home school of Riverton High School.
