    #Smiles: Riverton Riptides swim team wins Wyoming Summer State Championship

    A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Rendezvous Dental.

    The Riverton Riptides swim team competed last weekend at the Wyoming Summer State championships in Gillette, and won the division 3 championship.

    Sissa Hovander finished 8th in  the 50 breast, while competing in three other events. Ashlyn Jones finished 4th in the 100 free, and 5th in the 50 free and 50 back. Jared DeClercq competed in 5 events. Scoring points for the team in all of them. Aidan Jones swam the 50 and 100 free, as well as the 50 fly. Teter Hovander earned points for the team in each of his three events. Helping the Riptides in the 100 back, 50 free, and 100 free. Alex Jordan finished in the top 8 in the 100 back and made the finals in the 50 free. And Rylee Johnson was the team’s top point earner. She scored points for team in all 8 of her events this year. Making finals and finishing in the top 8 in the 50 free, 50 back, and 100 free. This is the second state team championships for the Riptides in their last four state championship appearances.The Riptides will have the month of August off and then be back in the water in mid-September.
