#Smiles: Riverton High School takes first place at Casper 3A Speech & Debate Tournament

A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Rendezvous Dental.

This past weekend Natrona High School played host to the Mustang Classic Speech & Debate Tournament, and the Riverton High School Wolverines were well represented.
Isaac Almejo-Ponce and Carolyn Thornton claimed first in Duet Interpretation. Shanynn Kreitzer earned a spot in Humorous Interpretation semi-finals.
Joseph Thornton took first in Poetic Interpretation, third in Dramatic Interpretation, sixth in Humorous Interpretation and fourth in Duet Interpretation with Elizabeth Pierson. Elizabeth also placed fourth in Congressional Debate.
Savana Whitehurst took home fourth in Dramatic Interpretation. The RHS Speech and Debate team took home a first place plaque in 3A competing against 30 other teams.
The RHS Speech & Debate team is consistently showing their dedication and especially the quality of hard work as these young students work many hours with their coaches each week just in preparation for each competition.
The RHS Speech and Debate team will be hosting their annual tournament for 14 plus teams around the State on February 28th-29th. They are looking for volunteer judges. If you are interested please email Becca Pierson at [email protected].
