Lander school system teacher Chase McFadden shared with County 10 that copies of the first edition of The Batch are now available at Snow Deep Designs at 326 Main Street in Lander. You might remember from our previous story a local edition of The Batch has been in the works since the 2018-2019 school year.

This first edition for the Lander area features art, photography and writing from 23 Lander and Fort Washakie teens.

Chase notes, “Financial assistance from Promoting Arts in Lander Schools (PALS) and generous donor contributions to a KickStarter campaign allowed us to print 1,000 copies of the journal, which are provided to the public free of charge. Our intention is to get as many eyes as possible on these creatives’ talents, and free helps get more copies in more people’s hands.”

Submissions are currently being accepted for the next edition. Work from teens in the areas of Lander and the Wind River Reservation will be included.

Chase also shares, “The Batch is also launching a separate magazine which will feature the art, photography and writing of teens age 13-19 from Dubois, Riverton, Shoshoni and Wind River, and we are accepting submissions for that journal, as well.”

If anyone would like information about The Batch, submit work or are interested in contributing financially to the journal, please contact Chase McFadden at (307) 751-1002 or email [email protected].
