Small event funding recommendation passed Riverton City Council

(Riverton, WY) – The EDGE Committee made a recommendation to the Riverton City Council on Tuesday night that “4% of the EDGE monies be set aside for the purposes of funding small events that meet the standards developed by the ballot language.”

This recommendation would allow for an expedited process for those organizations putting on events in need of additional funding to help cover things such as advertising.

“4% of the current estimate would amount to approximately $48,000 if the estimate of $1,200,000 were to be reached. This estimate is a two-year initial estimate,” according to City Administrator Tony Tolstedt.

    The recommendation passed unanimously.

The EDGE Committee was established following the passing of the optional half-percent sales tax for the purpose of economic development in August of 2020.
