Small Acreage Irrigation Workshop in Riverton and Lander

    SMALL ACREAGE IRRIGATION WORKSHOP

A free small acreage irrigation workshop will be held in Riverton (September 5th) and Lander (September 12th) hosted by your local conservation district.

    Topics include:

    • Wyoming water law
    • Small acreage irrigation options
    • Conflict resolution

Presenters include Caleb Carter (UW Extension), Kristi Hansen (UW Extension/Dept. of Ag & Applied Economics), and Lucy Pauley (Wyoming Dept. of Ag Mediation Program).  A representative from the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office will be there to answer questions also.

Do not miss this opportunity to get answers to frequently asked questions: Can I use water from the ditch running across the property? What is a water right? Does the property have one? What is the best method to irrigate my property? How often should I irrigate? What are some ways to deal with conflicts with my neighbor over water?

Not only will irrigators benefit from attending a workshop, but also realtors, developers and anyone thinking of buying a small acreage.  Consider attending even if you do not irrigate but you are affected by neighboring irrigation.

The same material will be presented at both workshops; if you can’t make one, you could attend the other.  The workshops are free and there is no need to RSVP.  You must attend the workshop in order to sign up for a free site-specific consultation.
