    Slick spots around Fremont County Friday morning; Part of I-80 shut down overnight

    Thursday evening saw snowfall ranging from less than one inch to about 3 inches across central Wyoming. While there wasn’t significant accumulation, it did make a few slick roadways.

    As of Friday morning,

    • South Pass has slick spots with a level 1 chain law
    • US 26/287 Togwotee Pass is slick with fog
    • The Wind River Canyon between Boysen Dam and Thermopolis is slick in spots
    • WY 133 between Kinner and Pavillion is slick in spots
    • WY 134 between US 26/ WY 789 and WY 133 is slick in spots
    • WY 789 between Riverton and Huson is slick in spots
    • WY 136 between WY 135 and Gas Hills is slick in spots
    • WY 131 between Lander and Sinks Canyon State Park is slick with Fog
    • US 287 between Lander and Diversion Dam Jct is slick in spots
    • WY 132 between US 287 and Ethete is slick in spots
    • WY 789 between Lander and Hudson is slick in spots

    Road conditions are expected to improve with warming temperatures early Friday. The Wyoming Department of Transportation updates them and you can follow real-time updates here or by calling 511.

    Sections of Interstate 80 were closed overnight in southeast Wyoming due to heavier snowfall. The interstate is open, but remains slick. Interstate 25 also has many slick spots.
