“Where do I sign up?”, “I want to go back to college”: comments heard at CWC Pro-Tech Open House
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Central Wyoming College hosted an open house Tuesday night for the latest remodel at the Pro-Tech Center on campus. The center was expanded and remodeled four years ago for the automotive technology and welding program, and this winter the front half of the building received a make over to house the college’s new Cosmetology program.
“Where do I sign up,?” said one woman entering the new Cosmetology salon, “This is fabulous!”
Another said, “Where do I sign up?” And yet another remarked, “I wish this was here when I was a student.”
Almost everyone overheard at the open house was filled with awe over the new facilities at Wyoming’s second community college cosmetology program. The other is at the other end of the state, at Torrington. The Central program will primarily serve students on the western half of the state.
Also getting rave reviews was the automotive technology program, featuring a Ford Shelby Mustang on display in one of the mechanics bays, and the impressive welding program, where student work was on display.
The Cosmetology program students need practice on real heads, faces and beards, so the program is open to the public to come in and get a haircut, styling or facial. There is a minimum charge for all services, which are performed by the students but supervised by the instructors. For a full list of services, or to make an appointment, call 855-2326.
