Shoshoni Volunteer Fire Department receives donation Monday evening

Roger Baker presented a $750 check from Tallgrass Energy to the Shoshoni Volunteer Fire Department on November 16th as part of their community giving program.

In a year of budget cuts and canceled fundraisers, donations are appreciated across the board. “It speaks a lot that you all are donating to us in a trying time,” said firefighter Charlie DeWitt during the check presentation.

The energy company recognizes and supports the important contributors of communities like volunteers and first responders. “We have remote locations, and in a lot of them volunteers like you would be responding,” said Baker, a Tallgrass Energy Plant Operator. “We really appreciate our first responders.”

“We really appreciate it,” said Battalion Chief Mike Streeter. “This will help ease the burden on the County since their budgets have been cut. We can get gloves, extra masks, a lot of stuff that we can utilize.”

The Shoshoni Volunteer Fire Department is Battalion 14 for the Fremont County Fire Protection District. To learn more about FCFPD or to learn how to become a volunteer click here.
