All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Raymond Rothschiller, 41, of Shoshoni is facing one count Strangulation of a Household Member and one count Domestic Battery.
Rothschiller had his preliminary hearing on August 17th. The Court found “sufficient probable cause” and transferred the case with both charges to District Court for arraignment.
On August 6th, 2020 a Shoshoni Police Officer was flagged down by a “distraught” female while on patrol, according to court documents. The female shared with the officer that she had been assaulted and choked by Rothschiller.
The officer reportedly observed “a split upper lip” and “redness on the left side of her neck.”
Court documents state Rothschiller was out on bond at that time with the condition he not have any contact with the female victim.
Strangulation of a Household Member is a felony punishable by imprisonment for no more than 10 years.
Domestic Battery is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment of no more than 6 months, a fine of no more than $750, or both.
