“As a child, photography was something I sincerely enjoyed, and I am so thankful to have been able to rediscover my passion. Becoming a certified photographer was important to me because I believe that through education our industry will continue to grow and flourish. Certification in most industries is used to validate qualifications. Just as a teacher becomes certified to educate, I am certified to capture your memories. I thank my first teacher, Lonnie Slack, for helping me along this path and through my education.”

Professional Photographers of America (PPA.com/CPP) is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals. CPPs must complete a written examination, finish an image evaluation and adhere to a strict code of conduct. Certification must be renewed on a periodic basis, ensuring continued confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers. For more information on certification, visit PPA.com/CPP. Call or text (307) 438-0508 for booking information for Shelby Hickerson, CPP.
