Sex offender who fled from Casper re-entry center arrested in Lander

The Lander Police Department has arrested a 26-year-old man who escaped from a re-entry center in Casper last week.

At around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, LPD received a tip that the subject, Cody Mikkel Schlosser, was located near a residential area. Lander Police worked with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in locating a trailer where he was found and arrested.

Schlosser was arrested in 2016 and sentenced to over 3 years in prison after being charged with sexual assault and kidnapping.

The re-entry center in Casper served as an alternative to incarceration or a traditional probation/parole supervised environment.
