September 11th honor happening in Lander

(Lander, WY) – On the 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, a special honor has been organized by the American Legion Don Stough Post 33 and the VFW Post 954.

Starting at 9 am at the Lander City Fire Hall, located at 430 Garfield Street, the community is invited to gather and remember those who lost their lives 20 years ago and to recognize our local first responders and military as well.

The service will be around 30 minutes, according to organizer Bruce Gallinger. The speaker for the honor is House District 54 Representative Lloyd Larsen. A military honor guard will also participate with a 21-gun salute and the playing of TAPS.

This is the first time Post 33 is doing a remembrance for 9/11, Gallinger shared, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
