(Riverton, WY) – Local U.S. House of Representatives candidate, Marissa Selvig, announced last week that she has left the Republican Party for the Wyoming Constitution Party.
Her reasoning for this change stems from the past year of campaigning inside the Republican Party, according to the announcement.
“I believe that the other candidates and many inside the Party have spoken loudly that they endorse big money, negative politics, finger-pointing, and talking behind closed doors about who they really support,” she said.
Selvig shared the Wyoming Constitution Party is “an organization that values God above governmental power structures, one that puts the Constitution first and views it through the lens of how it originally intended, an organization that puts personal responsibility before government benevolence.”
The Wyoming Consitution Party will select their candidate to run for Wyoming’s one U.S. House of Representatives seat in April.
