SageWest Riverton inpatient care temporarily moves to Lander

Like most local healthcare clinics and providers, SageWest Health Care has reported feeling the impacts of the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases. In addition, members of their team have tested positive, in turn, affecting staffing. In an effort to mitigate these circumstances, they made the decision to temporarily transition all inpatient care to their Lander campus.

“This allows us to consolidate patients and maximize our staffing, so we are best prepared to care for our community and respond to the increasing demands of COVID-19,” SageWest shared with County 10. The Riverton campus still provides 24-hour emergency care and outpatient services – lab, imaging, surgical, and infusion services.

“We are anticipating supplemental staffing resources provided by the Wyoming Governor’s initiative. We will re-evaluate our staffing and our ability to resume inpatient operations in Riverton on a daily basis. Rest assured that this is a temporary solution to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our patients during these unprecedented times.”

“We encourage the community not to delay needed emergency care in the meantime. We recognize that these are challenging times, but we are confident that we have the right teams and processes in place to respond effectively and support our communities.”

“We call upon everyone to lead by example – wear a mask over your nose and mouth, wash your hands frequently, practice social distancing and avoid group gatherings. Together, we can make a difference and make our communities healthier.”
