SageWest Health Care Named Top 100 Rural Hospitals for 2019

Amid recent criticism in Riverton over quality of health care, Fremont County doctors, nurses, and hospital staff accomplished what very few were able to achieve this year — being named one of the nation’s top 100 rural hospitals.

The National Rural Health Association’s Rural Health Policy Institute and The Chartis Center for Rural Health named SageWest Health Care among the top 100 rural and community hospitals for 2019 last week. The hospitals named were based on results of the ninth annual Hospital Strength Index survey from iVantage Health Analytics, which ranked hospitals across 50 indicators and eight pillars.

“We’re delighted to be recognized as this year’s top 100 rural providers and showcase our commitment to deliver quality healthcare close to home,” said Alan Daugherty, SageWest Health Care CEO. “This is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated team of employees and physicians providing excellence to our communities.”

Daugherty said this is the first hospital he’s led that has made the prestigious list.

The list included 4 Wyoming hospitals including Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Sheridan Memorial Hospital, and St Johns Medical Center in Jackson.
