Riverton’s Ryan McGuffey named the best ever to wear number 85 for Wyoming football

If you’re a Wyoming football fan, you’re no doubt aware that our good friend Cody Tucker at 7220sports.com has been counting down the best players to wear each jersey number.

We, at County 10, have been anxious for number 85 to roll around. That’s because the best 85 in Wyoming football history, is a former Riverton Wolverine.

Ryan was part of the Wolverine football dynasty in the late 1990’s. RHS won state championships in 1997, 1998, and 1999.

McGuffey accepted a scholarship to the University of Wyoming and began his fantastic Pokes career in 2000. McGuffey caught 63 passes and scored 4 touchdowns his freshman year. His sophomore year, he was named first team all-conference and became a team captain. He got even better the next two years at UW.

Ryan is still 6th in career receiving yards at Wyoming, 4th in receptions and 10th in career touchdowns.
