Riverton’s first-ever official pride event planned for July 24th

The Pride-N-Pink block party is happening at the Landing Lounge to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the very first Pride March. From 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Friday, July 24th, S 3rd Street E from Main to Washington will be closed for live music and entertainment.

“Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate,” said one of the organizers Renard LeBlanc. “It’s a party!” Everyone is also encouraged to wear pink.

Due to public health order restrictions, the annual Lander Pride Parade and Picnic did not happen in June. Not wanting to see the 50th-anniversary pass by, LeBlanc decided to turn the “unofficial” pride events that have been organized in Riverton for the past few years into an official block party. “It’s a huge landmark [50th anniversary] that is something that can’t be missed.”

LeBlanc hopes to turn this event into the kick-off for Fremont County Pride Weekend in June.
