#rivertonbiz, shares the stories of local movers and shakers of our Fremont County economy.

Charene Herrera loves adventure. So much so, she’s affectionally been nicknamed “Charene The Adventure Queen.”

Herrera is one of Riverton’s newest residents after residing in both Missoula, Montana and Boise, Idaho for several years. She’s a former radio DJ, writer, vlogger, nursing student, and is obsessed with fly fishing. One more thing… she bakes.

This March, County 10’s #RivertonBiz series introduced you to The Private Chef. Owner Destiny Dower makes dishes from scratch and delivers them to her Fremont County customers.

Business for Destiny is booming. Her sister, Charene took note. Now The Private Chef is teaming up with Charene’s Sweets to deliver hearty meals and baked goods.

All of Herrera’s baked goods are fly fishing themed. For example, her “Brookie” Bacon Banana Bread. (Yeah, we said bacon).

Or, maybe you’d be more interested in her “Stonefly” Sugar Cookies. Or “Carp” Chocolate Chip cookies. “No fish were harmed in the baking of these,” Herrera joked.

Charene told us on the County 10 Morning Show that fly fishing became one of her biggest hobbies after her grandma passed away. “It saved me,” she explained.
