Riverton Volleyball Club goes national this season

(Riverton, WY)—Thanks to local sponsors and donors this season, the Riverton Volleyball Club (RVC) U18 team has been able to attend national tournaments for the first time.

The team, comprised of players from Lander, Riverton, and Wind River, plays in tournaments, typically only across Wyoming. This year, they have played in Sheridan, Cody/Lovell, Buffalo, and Rawlins.

“We have never attended a national tournament prior (to this season),” shared head coach Amy Byrd.

The team began practicing at the end of 2023, and their first tournament was on February 25, 2024. Their season will end after their last national tournament coming up in Phoenix on June 30.

Their first national tournament was in Las Vegas, and they placed 19th out of 36 teams.

“Very impressive, given there were teams from all over the country,” Amy noted.
