Riverton Search and Rescue saves 3 after boat capsizes on Ocean Lake

(Riverton, WY) – On Wednesday, August 4th, around 6:30 PM, Riverton Search and Rescue (RSAR) received reports of a capsized boat on Ocean Lake.

The rescue effort was partially captured in this video, shared on the RSAR Facebook page.

The 3 occupants made it out of the boat safely before it became fully submerged.

All 3 were wearing life jackets.

“Everyone made it out of the water safe and our team got the boat out of the water as well,” the RSAR Facebook page post goes on to state.

There were also reportedly no injuries sustained, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Offices.

If you would like to support RSAR’s continued efforts to keep the folks of Fremont County safe and out of harm’s way, they will soon be hosting their Get Lost Banquet fundraiser.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 28th in the Fremont Center at the Fairgrounds, and begins at 5:30 PM.

This is RSAR’s one fundraiser this year, and is used to raise money for much-needed equipment and training to continue serving those in their time of need.
