Riverton Raiders Baseball hires new Manager for the upcoming season

(Riverton, WY) – There’s a new sheriff in town at Roy Peck Field this summer. The Riverton Raider’s Board contracted with Kevin Lofthus to serve as the team manager for the Raiders Legion Post 19 Class A baseball program.

Previous manager Brady Beers is pursuing a master’s degree in Laramie, leaving the position open for the 2022 summer season.

Lofthus brings an extensive baseball resume to the program.

He earned first team All-American status while playing at the College of Southern Idaho before moving on to the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

At UNLV he led the NCAA in home runs, and was again named All-American, this time at Division I.

He played professionally in the Oakland A’s organization and has coached every level of baseball from T-Ball through Division I.

“It is about the player and their growth,” Lofthus said. “Baseball is a vehicle to get kids educated, to build character, confidence and self-esteem. I care about each of my players. I coach from my failures and success so they learn values that will make them successful in baseball and in life.”

The Raiders play in the Western Division of American Legion A baseball. Depending on the number of players out for the team, and the age of those players, the Raiders have fielded an A team, and played either a B or C schedule.

Once the roster is established, a complete schedule of B of C games will be added to the A schedule.
