Riverton Police respond to two calls about three deceased people Saturday afternoon
The Riverton Police Department responded Saturday afternoon to two calls about deceased individuals.
Scanner traffic indicated around noon that a call was received about a man who had, “hung himself in a Riverton motel room.” At 12:32 p.m. RPD was dispatched to another call in which it appears two individuals were found in a home with gunshot wounds.
We are working to confirm these details and gather more information as it becomes available. Both incidents are currently under investigation.
Police Chief Eric Murphy released the following message on the RPD Facebook page:
The Riverton Police Department is currently working 2 separate incidents involving 3 deceased individuals. One incident occurred at the 400 North Federal and the other occurred at the 1100 East Main Street. Both incidents are currently being investigated by the Riverton Police Department. The Riverton Police Department has called in all members of the Riverton Police Department to include Administrative Staff, Detectives, Crime Scene Technicians and Division of Criminal Investigations. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with calls for service.
