    Riverton Police make 24 arrests for 2nd weekend in a row; 21 of them for alcohol or substance

    Last weekend, the Riverton Police Department arrested 24 people, all of those people were intoxicated according to Police Chief Eric Murphy. 

    This weekend, RPD made exactly 24 arrests once again.

    19 of the 24 arrests were for alcohol-related offenses. 16 arrests had a charge of public intoxication. 3 of the 16 public intoxication arrests, had additional charges, one of which was simple assault, and 2 for open container.

    A 22-year-old Riverton man was charged with driving under the influence, and 2 people were charged with pedestrian under the influence.

    One of the alcohol offenders was arrested 3 separate times this weekend, twice for alcohol offenses and once for indecent exposure. Another individual was arrested twice for public intoxication this weekend.

    2 people were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. One person was arrested for probation revocation, and one person was arrested for criminal trespassing.
