Pioneer Pharmacy, LLC located at 832 West Main Street is offering free self-administered COVID-19 testing for adults over 18 with COVID-19 symptoms, healthcare providers, and first responders.
If you are in one of those three categories and would like a free test you must visit https://doineedacovid19test.com/ or call 1-800-635-8611 to complete the assessment to determine your eligibility before going to Pioneer Pharmacy. Please note healthcare providers and first responders do NOT need to be exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms in order to be eligible for the free test.
If the assessment determines you are eligible for COVID-19 testing, below is what happens next:
- Following the assessment, you will be prompted to select a time to visit the pharmacy for a test (The testing times available at Pioneer Pharmacy, LLC are Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.)
- You will be issued a voucher to take with you to your selected test time
- During the visit, you need to present the voucher and an ID to receive a test kit and guidance to self-administer a nasal swab under supervision
- After collecting the sample, you will place it in a collection bin for shipment to the lab
- Your results will be available in 3-5 days through the eTrueNorth portal
Pioneer Pharmacy, LLC is a HealthMart Pharmacy that allows them to offer competitive prescription pricing and additional opportunities like this one.
HealthMart partnered with eTrueNorth and Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide free FDA approved tests for people who qualify, shared Pioneer Pharmacy, LLC owner Sommer Pedersen. “It’s mostly in rural areas where people do not have as much access to testing like in the big cities. They asked HealthMarts to volunteer. I volunteered and then the HHS picked the sites they wanted and we got picked.”
This is considered Phase 1 of testing rollout and will be offered through the end of May, Sommer noted. She also shared they are able to offer this locally because they have a CLIA waiver with hopes of offering more testing, like flu or strep, in the future.
