Riverton Parks Committee organizes community Christmas tree lighting event

The Riverton Parks Committee is working to organize a new holiday-themed event for community residents of all ages.

The 1st annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting event is set for Saturday, December 8th at 6:00 p.m.

Festivities are held in the green space near the Depot Restaurant and the Rails to Trails pathway.

Patrons will have a chance to meet Santa Claus and pose for a photo with the big guy. There’s free hot cocoa, a cookie exchange, and Christmas Carols. The event is culminated by the lighting ceremony of a Christmas tree.

Additionally, if residents care to, they are encouraged to bring an ornament to help decorate the community tree.

As with any December evening activity in Wyoming, you’re reminded to dress warmly.

A Facebook page for the event can be found by clicking here.
