Riverton Middle School organizes “Food For Break” to assist possible hunger issues

Riverton Middle School staff and volunteers will organize an opportunity for students who may need assistance with food over Christmas break on Wednesday.

Students will be given an opportunity to pick up a bag of food this week, if they feel they need one over the two week’s school will not be in session. This was described as a, “no questions asked” policy. Anyone who feels they need one, can take one.

RMS has done a similar program for several years, distributing roughly 3,000 bags of food total.

Staff and volunteers will begin unloading boxes around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th. Shortly after, the bags will be filled. If anyone would like to help volunteer, the extra assistance would be appreciated. If you need more details, you can reach out to Niki at 840-0186.
