    Riverton Mayor proclaims July as “General Aviation Appreciation Month”

    Riverton Mayor, John “Lars” Baker has proclaimed July as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.”

    The proclamation came, in the middle of the month, on July 17th at the Riverton City Council meeting at Riverton City Hall.

    Baker has been a member of the Riverton Airport Board for several years and has been involved with several meetings of late, committed to improving air service throughout the state of Wyoming.

    He explained that aviation, “has an immense economic impact” for the state of Wyoming and that “it improves overall quality of life.” Baker explained that the expansion of air travel locally not only helps business and leisure travelers, but it also helps expand emergency management, firefighter resources, and disaster relief if it becomes necessary.

    He concluded by calling local aviation “a vital, strategic resource for the entire state of Wyoming.”
