Riverton Man Sentenced to 4 and a Half Years in Prison for Stolen Firearm
Matthew Wade Howard, 32, of Riverton, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court
Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on August 1, 2017, for possession of a firearm by a person subject to a
domestic violence protective order, possession of stolen firearm, and possession of an unregistered firearm. Howard was arrested in Lander, Wyoming.
He received 54 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $300.00 special assessment and a $300.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
