Riverton Make-A-Wish volunteer recognized for 15 years of service

(Riverton, WY) – Make-A-Wish Wyoming has recognized Linda Treese for her years of service as a volunteer. At a time when hope and joy are needed most, Linda continues to help make memorable experiences for wish kids.

Linda has been volunteering with Make-A-Wish Wyoming for fifteen years. The entire wish process, from start to finish, is special to Linda. Linda feels that each family has had to endure more than people realize. She believes that a wish is a time that everyone gets a break from doctor visits, lab draws, sitting in the ER, surgeries, and hours upon hours of driving to the big hospitals.

“My favorite memory is when I go to a family’s home knowing that all of their worries are being left behind the minute the volunteer comes in through the doors and something fantastic is about to happen! The families are just as excited as the wish child,“ said Linda.

Linda is motivated to continue to help more children who need something to look forward to beside another doctor visit that could have devastating news. “They need a smile on their face, and they get to pick a magical moment. Just yesterday I ran into a mom and her child has been diagnosed with a condition that I hope will qualify for a wish. This is what motivates me.”

Linda’s favorite part of the wish is the first visit. “When you and another volunteer visit for the first time, all eyes are looking out the window! Here we come with balloons and gifts!  It’s magical for the wish child and the parents.”

“As an essential part of our organization, Linda has made countless wishes possible in Riverton and the surrounding areas,” Make-A-Wish Wyoming shared. “Without our wonderful volunteers, wishes in Wyoming would not be possible.”
