Riverton, Lander reach record temps Monday and Tuesday

(Fremont County, WY) – High pressure over the region Monday and Tuesday brought very hot and dry weather conditions to Fremont County.

This scorching weather pattern produced record and near record high temperatures both days all over the state.

On both Monday and Tuesday, Riverton temperatures broke records from 2008 with 97 degrees on Monday and a triple digit 100 degree day on Tuesday.

Monday was also the hottest day in Lander in over a decade, with a temperature of 98 degrees.

As a reminder, be careful out in the heat when temperatures are this high, as everyone is at risk.

The heat should die down in the upcoming days, as monsoonal moisture makes its way through the state, causing projected thunderstorms throughout the area.
