    Riverton High School boys golf will represent Wyoming this summer at the national level

    (Fremont County, WY) – Riverton High School boys golf team has been invited to the National High School Golf Tournament. Riverton golf has shown a lot of success after being crowned state champions last fall.

    A video was posted on the County 10 youtube page with a video from Webb Simpson announcing Riverton’s invite.

    Head Coach Lars Flanagan is excited for his athletes to compete at Pinehurst. “I’m excited for the seniors to have one last hoorah of high school golf, and I’m excited for everyone to get the experience.”

    The Pinehurst is a historic golf course located in North Carolina. Senior Brett Jones is looking forward to having one last experience with his team at Pinehurst. “To get to go play at one of the most prestigious courses in the United States and to do it with each other this summer is awesome!”

    Winning the state championship in the fall allowed Riverton to receive an invite to play at the tournament this summer. Sophomore Brodie Dale was surprised about receiving the invite and looking forward to representing Wyoming. “It’s a big tournament to be a part of,” he said. “It will be exciting for Wyoming to have a team going to the national tournament.”

    Freshman Kyler Graham is looking forward to playing with the seniors one final time. “The team I had last year was the best team I’ve been a part of, the seniors made it fun as well.”

    The tournament begins July 11-13. Riverton is hosting a scramble on Saturday at 10 a.m. to help fundraise for the tournament.
