(Riverton, WY) – Long-time Riverton residents and pillars of the community Rick and Josephine Gilpatrick will be honored at the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton’s 2nd Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast on Wednesday, April 27th, at the Fremont Center at the Fremont County Fairgrounds.
Rick and Josephine have worked tirelessly and given selflessly to make Riverton a place residents are proud to call home. Along with a special presentation to the Gilpatricks, the breakfast will also feature a keynote address by Rudy Reuttiger–the inspiration behind the movie, Rudy.
A third-generation Riverton native, Rick and Josephine ran the family business, Gilpatrick Construction Company, for decades. Rick served as a Staff Sergeant in the Wyoming National Guard, and chaired the Wyoming School Facilities Commission. Josephine has impacted the lives of girls in the community as a Girl Scout leader, softball coach, and canoeing instructor. She is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming.
Together, they are members of the Rotary Club of Riverton and have made a lasting impact in the community. They worked with the Veterans Administration to expand and remodel the VA Medical Clinic. They have built community parks, Habitat for Humanity houses, features for the hockey rink and more. Through the years, they have served thousands of Thanksgiving meals for hundreds of Riverton residents in need through the Kiwanis Key Club Program. They are also the proud parents of two children and have four grandchildren.
“Our love is for the state of Wyoming,” Josephine said. “Rick was born and bred here. It’s very important for us to make this community the best of all things, economically, fiscally, for the kids, and recreationally.”
Special guest speaker, Rudy Ruettiger, the inspiration behind the movie Rudy, will share a powerful message of “YES, I CAN,” which comes from his personal experiences of adversity and triumph and stays with his audiences forever. The son of an oil refinery worker and third of 14 children, Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. Today, he is perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame and one of the most popular motivational speakers in the United States.
All proceeds support the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton. The Club opened in August 2021 and offers out-of-school programming for youth in a safe environment with positive mentors.

Doors open at 6:15 a.m., breakfast begins at 6:30 a.m., and the program begins at 7 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but guests are asked to make a meaningful donation to support the Club’s unstoppable mission of providing bright futures for Riverton’s youth.
