Riverton City Council approves funds through Airport Improvement Program; Airport gets approved for new carpet

The Riverton City Council unanimously approved funds made available through the federal Airport Improvement Program and Federal Aviation Administration.

Kyle Butterfield is the Public Works Director and says funds will be used to improve terminals at Riverton Airport receiving around three hundred million dollars and the funds will rehabilitate taxiways A, D and C1 to bring them up to F.A.A. standards.

Butterfield also said that the Riverton Airport was the only airport in Wyoming that received this funding at this time and says the project has been in the works since 2015.

Separately, the Riverton City Council also approved new carpets at the airport to be provided through Gales Carpet One after three weeks of advertising to the public.
