The Riverton Lady Wolverine volleyball team had a great night Thursday.
They swept Fremont County rivals Lander, with the freshman team, junior varsity, and varsity teams all claiming victory. Varsity scores went 25-14, 25-18, and 25-23 to RHS.
The win means the Lady Wolverines get to keep the traveling trophy for the entire off-season since this will be the last time in 2018 they’ll meet up with LVHS. It also boosts their overall record to 17-12.
The win, however, was not the most important part of the Thursday night festivities for RHS volleyball.
The bigger storyline was generosity.
RHS staff, parents, and supporters rallied together to raise over $2,000 for the Tough Enough Cancer Fund of Fremont County.
Players and supporters wore pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and donations were all accepted to help local cancer patients.
Central Wyoming College volleyball is also hosting “Tough Enough To Wear Pink” night Friday night. The Lady Rustlers play Northwest College at 7:00 p.m. in Riverton, for more game details, click here.
