    RHS, Career Center security door bid award discussion at Aug. 24 FCSD #25 Board meeting

    (Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District (FCSD) #25 School Board will convene for a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 24th, 7:00 PM, in the district office boardroom located at 121 North 5th West St.

    The meeting is open to the public.

    Superintendent JoAnne Flanagan is set to approve a bid award to API Systems Integrators for the Riverton High School (RHS) / Career Center Exterior Door Integration Project, in the amount of $139,700.00. This project is for electronically operated security devices and video controlled operations for 5 doors at RHS and the Career Center.

Consider an Administrative Recommendation to Award a Bid – Ted May is recommending the Board award the Riverton High School / Career Center Exterior Door Integration Project be awarded to API Systems Integrators in the amount of $139,700.00. This was the only bid received. This project is for electronically operated, security devices and video controlled operation at 5 doors at RHS and Career Center.

      B. Consider an Administrative Recommendation to Abrogate a Policy – JoAnne Flanagan is recommending the Board abrogate Policy 8015 “School Attendance” as it has been added to Revised Policy JEA.

      *Superintendent’s recommendation: I recommend the Board approve to abrogate Policy 8015 “School Attendance” on first reading.

      C. Consider an Administrative Recommendation to a Policy – JoAnne Flanagan is requesting the Board approve Revised Policy JEA “Compulsory Attendance; Exemptions and Withdrawals”.

      *Superintendent’s recommendation: I recommend the Board approve Revised Policy JEA “Compulsory Attendance; Exemptions and Withdrawals” as presented on first reading.

      D. Consider an Administrative Recommendation to Offer a Contract – An interview team is recommending a contract be offered to Julie Houtman as an RHS Reading Interventionist.
       
      *Superintendent’s recommendation:  I recommend the Board offer a contract to Julie Houtman as an RHS Reading Interventionist for the 2021-2022 school year.

      Julie Houtman has been a Title I Reading Teacher in California for a year and a half. 
      Prior to that she tutored college students who were reading below level and also taught
      2nd and 3rd grades for King’s Christian School for two years, and three years as an English Arts Teacher at the middle school level in California.
