Reports: Lander Lil says more winter in Fremont County

While the nation turns their attention to Punxsutawney Phil for a prediction of early spring vs. more winter weather, in Wyoming, we look to Lander Lil’s wisdom.

According to Lander’s Jean Haugen, the prairie dog has been serving since Lander’s Centennial in 1984.

On a sunny Sunday morning, we’re hearing reports that Lil did indeed see her shadow. Thus, predicting six more weeks of winter.

Or as we like to respond in Wyoming… “duh.”

A Winter Storm Warning is in place Sunday night through Tuesday morning, in fact. Areas of Fremont County are expected to receive between 4-18 inches of snow.

Many road closures have already occurred throughout Wyoming, check road conditions here.
