Removin’ those rascally rocks near Cody
Rock removal is scheduled on U.S. 14/16/20 west of Cody near Buffalo Bill Reservoir beginning Tuesday, September 5th.
Located between mileposts 44.39 and 45.37 beginning about a mile west of the long tunnel 10,000 cubic yards of rock will be removed, along with the removal of loose rock through scaling, and installation of rock bolts and rockfall barriers above the roadway.
Work is scheduled through September, October, and November and there will be traffic delays at the maximum of 20 minutes unless you are traveling between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for your daily commute to work.
So keep your eye open for workers, road signs, and let the pilot cars and flaggers lead you through the rubble.
