Remigia Dequito Mendoza, 104, of Orlando, Florida, by God’s grace and mercy, has won her race and passed away on January 12, 2020. Visitation and Prayer Service took place at Osceola Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kissimee, FL on January 19-20, 2020.
Remigia, known as “Miyang”, “Nanay Miyang”, “Na Miyang”, and its many variations, was to a lot of us simply known as “Inay”, which means mom in Tagalog. Inay was born and grew up, with her two sisters and four brothers, in Rizal, Laguna, Philippines. There is where she married, raised a family(she had thirteen children), and where she became a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). She loved deeply and lived her life in service to God and to others. She was and will remain as an inspiration to her family and the many people whose lives she touched on how to live a christian life despite the obstacles and trials she faced. Her faith and conviction are some of the reasons why we know this is not goodbye, we will see each other again in the holy city.
Remigia is preceded in death by her husband, Florencio Mendoza, her parents, Antonio and Juliana Dequito, her brothers and sisters, seven of her thirteen children. She is survived by six of her children(Lorenza, Orlando, Teresa, Jessica, Rodante, and Arnulfo), her many grandchildren(thirty-one, we think), great-grandchildren(sixty-one, so far), and great-great-grandchildren(twelve, and counting).
Inay, until we see each other again. We love you!
